Carl Hadley’s Letter dated May 19, 2005

Dear Friends,

Just thought this might be a good time to let everyone know what is happening in Liberia with the ministry. First I want to thank all of the friends who have been praying and giving to the ministry. God certainly is answering our prayers.

1. Number one we are very proud to let everyone know that we have had at least 800 people to pray to receive our Lord Jesus as their personal savior. We have baptized about 100 of them and I am sure that the more they learn the more of them will be baptized.

2. Our average attendance in worship service is about 120 precious souls who would have no place to go if it were not for our ministry over there.

3. Our medical clinic is going really great. We have been able to help hundreds who would have had no place to go if our ministry did not support the clinic. It may not be the very best compared to our clinics over here but it’s a place where these people can go and find help in their time of need. Our people witness to every patent about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ

4. Our school is going great and I am so thankful for what God is doing in the school. We now have 330 students attending everyday. Carol Chambers, our American Missionary, teaches every class the Bible and tells them of the good news about God’s saving grace. We have over 500 more waiting to get in when we get the room. We are in the process of building a new permanent school building made out of concrete block that will school our children from K-1 through 12th grades. The foundation is up and they are making the blocks as we speak. These people are hard working people trying to make a better place for their children to grow up. We just received a request from Shadrach for $5000.00 for pluming and transportation to take 500 bags of cement to the village

5. We have two temporary dormitories for the younger children to live in which has taken them off the streets and giving them a place to sleep and food for their little bellies.

6. We just sent Shadrach and Gertrude $1650.00 for Gertrude’s medical bills. Bless their hearts they have not had a salary in the year and half they have been over there full time. It’s a hard life and they have not asked for much since they have been there. We just voted to give them a $200.00 per month salary and we are checking on how we can set them up an annuity.

7. It’s our prayer that the ministry will someday become self sufficient but as of now they are dependant on those of us in America to help them. Basically the taxis and the freezers have been taking care of most of the salaries, except when we were over there in March the generator was broken and one of the vans was down which just left one van to try and do all the work. Of course that couldn't be and so we had to help them out at the tune of about $7,000.00 for the months of March and April. Things will be a little better when we get the two new vans on the road.

8. The idea was that the ministry in Monrovia would support most of the needs in the children’s village. As of yet every bit of the building fund and a lot of the school supplies and food still must come from our friends over here. I did get a note from Shadrach this week that the United Nations has helped them out with some of the school supplies and some food so we are thrilled with that.

9. We now have some of the pictures and a very little information about the children. We will be sharing those with those who are helping us support our orphans. I don’t know how I can thank you all for your love gifts and sacrifice for the little orphan children who have no other help. Their own government either cannot or will not help. God has raised up a people here in the United States to come to their aid.

10. Please pray for the ministry as God has gotten us in touch with a group of folks in Jonesboro Ga. The First Baptist Church of Jonesboro talks as if they are interested in helping us. We don’t know yet how or when but we have a meeting with them June 11th. This is the home church of the man who owns Chick fil-A, and Henry Blackaby and some other influential people  there. Please pray that God will lay the ministry on the heart of that great big church. They right now have ministries in 29 nations plus giving to the Cooperative program and their association. They have their own medical clinic which is free to those who need it in Jonesboro and their own Pregnancy Crises Center. They are very mission minded both at home and away.

11. We are excited that we have now been a non-profit organization since Jan. 5. If you would like to sponsor a child or just donate money to the ministry please address your letters to, Liberian Ministries 1325 Parrish Road, Bonifay Fla. 32425.  If you have any questions you may call Carl Hadley 850-547-1938.  We will be thrilled to go to any church anywhere and share the good news of what God is doing in Liberia. All we need is an invitation.

Love you all
Thanks for you prayers and support
