A Letter from Robena Kamei

Dear Mr. Edwards,

I hope this letter finds you in good health as given only by the Lord above.

Where shall I begin, there is so much to write and so little time!  Let me begin by formally introducing myself, my name is Robena Kamei.  In 1989 my family fled from the war torn country of Liberia to the neighboring country of the Ivory Coast.  In 1992, my Mother and younger sister were chosen by a Christian organization called Bridge Refugee through a church sponsorship program to the United States.  We arrived in the United States in late December, entered in New York, and began our new lives in Northeast Tennessee.  I was saved at the age of sixteen and later that same year I dedicated my life to full time Christian service.

When I surrendered my life to full time Christian service, I did not understand the fullness in joy and in sorrow that would bring, my surrender is my all and I am happy to give it back to my King. I have always had an interest to travel back to Liberia because I left at such a young age.  I want to learn more about Liberia by experiencing life in my country of birth.  When I dedicated my life to full time Christian service, my desire matched God's heart beat.  Now the interest in traveling to Liberia for my own personal motives, became a mission to see souls saved in Liberia.

I decide to put my feet to my prayers by applying to Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola Florida. I applied and was accepted for the fall semester of 2005 as a Missions mayor with a minor in Speech.  After I was accepted to PCC, I went on Yahoo to research ministries working in Liberia.  I looked at several web pages and then came across Liberian Ministries. My eye effected my heart and I got in contact with Pastor Hadley, I planned to get involved by traveling with the team for the summer of 2005.  The trip never happened because of finances, I saved up enough money to either pay for the missions trip or put it towards college; I decided to put it towards college.  I do not regret that decision, my first year at PCC has strengthened my desire to become a missionary to Liberia.

I would love to be apart of this organization and a part of this missions team.  After a year Liberian Ministries is still in my thought and prayers, I do believe everything that has happened is the Lord's working.  I would love to be apart of the orphanage ministry, and to start my own orphanage one day in Liberia.

I am writing this letter because I want to keep corresponding with Liberian Ministries: I love children and my big dream is to open a orphanage in Liberia one day by God's grace.

                                                                        In Christ,
                                                                        Robena Kamei
