Shadrach’s May 22nd 2005 Report

Hi Friends of the Liberian Ministry,

Wylie Memorial Baptist Church:

I thank the Lord for all he’s doing for His glory through the Ministry.  Today is Sunday the 22nd of May 2005. Our attendance was 155 and our total offering was $375.00 LD (about $35 U.S.).  We had two persons who came to rededicate their lives to Christ. We have most of the school students coming to be members of the Church.  Our Church is growing every day. Praise God for that. We have a new teacher who is replacing Miss. Carol (who returned to the U.S. after a year of service) and she did very well today with the children’s church.

The Church will be having her first leadership meeting next month by the grace of God. During this meeting I will be appointing the Church Leadership. Pray that God will guide me through this. We will be voting in our first Deacon, Youth Minister, Choir Leader, and Committee Board and so on.  I believe that a Church with all these members needs more Godly people to work and not just me alone.

Today I received three letters from three different villages.  They are asking to form part of the Ministry and want me to come and help them start a Baptist Church in their villages. This is what we have been praying and waiting for. Well the only problem I see is how to get to these villages? We will need your prayers that God will provide for us some form of transportation that is fit for the Sinoe road. The only type of vehicle that can go to these places is a 4 wheel drive car. It will take about 8 hours walking to get to each of them. I believe that this will be a great opportunity for the glory of God. All these people have is their traditional beliefs and they are thirsty for the word of God to be preached to them.  It is a blessing that, because of you all, more souls for their first time will hear the word of God. I believe that they have heard some kind of message preached to them saying you can still have your traditional beliefs and still have God as well and that Jesus is not the only way. I believe that this kind of gospel is not the real gospel.  The real gospel is telling people about Jesus Christ and how, by believing in Him, they will have eternal life.

We thank God for Bro. Wesseh and his wife who will be joining us in Sinoe to work with the Ministry permanently. We have constructed a mud hut with three bedrooms for them to live in until the ministry can provide for them a better house. Thank God for that great help.

School Construction:

The construction work is going very fine. The elevation of the wall will start on Wednesday by the grace of God. We have enough blocks and sand that can carry us a long way.  It is our prayers that we will be able to use the school by next semester. This will be the very first high school ever in that region. We have 400-500 students waiting to enroll as soon as the building is completed. We are praying for the truck to continuing getting more sand. The getting of sand has been the only problem so far for the construction. We are trying to hire another truck for sand, to help speed up the work. As long we can get more sand the building will even finish before we know it. I thought I could take some pictures but I realized that my camera had run out of batteries.

Public Test for our Students:

We also asking you all to pray for our six and nine graders as they take their first government administer public test, starting from June 6-10th that God will give them knowledge to come out with flying colors by the grace of God. We are sending 12 ninth graders and 14 sixth graders.

I will also be leaving for Monrovia tomorrow (Monday) by the grace of God, to be with my wife as she will be giving birth to our second child any time now. I pray to be back in Sinoe by next week as soon as she gives birth. Please pray for her as she goes through this rough time that God will give her the strength that she needs. Even though I will be there by her side, but nothing that I can do to help her, all I have to do is pray for and with her.

I want you all to know that God is working miracles in Karmo’s Town and in the lives of the people that are there, and not only in Karmo’s Town but in other areas as well, and this is all happening because of all of you who are call by God to be a blessing for the children of Liberia.  I thank you all for being a part of it all.

God Bless.
