Shadrach’s Report
for Dec. 2004 and Jan. 2005 INITIAL COMMENTS Carol Chambers is teaching full time Bible to K-6 Grades and she is also working part time at the Clinic. She spent time talking to some young girls about pre-marital sex recently. The Ministry is blessed for having her; she is really a blessing for both the school children and the Clinic. We pray that the Ministry can have some more volunteers like her. See pictures of Carol and the school children here. THE ORPHANAGE In the month of February, the Ministry built a three room, temporary shelter for our orphans to move in. We are trying to build another one to be able to separate the girls form the boys. We have to total of twenty (20) children living now in the temporary house. We have 85 children in total, but we are able to house all of them now until we can build more shelters for them to live in. Please pray that God will provide for these kids. They need to eat, have a place for them to sleep and clothes for them to wear. For now we have them expanded from one room to three rooms, thank God. We need to at least build for them a temporary shelter until we can finish their house. It is not easy for the Ministry to feed them due to the cost. I want you all to know that the children are the Ministry’s responsibility until they can or are able to provide for themselves. CHURCH We thank God for our Church; we are having service every Sunday. We are still having our Sunday school ruining from 120-125 or more every Sunday. Our classes run from 2-5 yrs headed by Miss Carol Chambers and 6-11 yrs headed by Miss Atta Tumoe, 12-19 yrs headed by Bro. Leo Dennis and from 19 and over is headed by Rev. Shadrach and Gertrude Saywon. We have started using our Baptist hymnals for the first time. Pray that all our members will get used to singing hymns while at the same time singing their Liberian way. We are praying by the grace of God that this coming May we will give out certificates to all those who have been baptized by the ministry. We will be giving out a total of 80-85 certificates. Praise the Lord for bringing the people to hear about the Good News of His grace through Jesus Christ. SCHOOL The school will be closing for the first semester break on the 20th of February and will re-open on the 11th of March. We are having the expectation of getting more students for this coming semester. We are asking you’ll to pray for us for more Godly and qualified teachers, because the more we elevate the school the more good teachers we will need. Another good news item from the school is that we will be sending for our first time ten students from the 9th grade and twelve students from the 6th grade to the West African Examination or National Exam. This is a test given by the government to all 6th, 9th and 12th graders as a requirement for all schools. The test will be given in May of this year Pray that our all our students will pass the Exams. We thank God for Mr. Mobutu Y. Nyepean, the General Manager for the Liberian Petroleum Refinery Company who through his good office pays for the fees for our 9th graders Exam. As you may know with the school now we have about 300 children that are going to school. We have some kids walking from 3-4 hours distance just for them to have the opportunity to learn. We want you to know that is a blessing for you to be part of these kids having a better place to use for school and having a better future for them tomorrow. It is only God that will reward all of you for all your good works. See pictures of the new school building being constructed here. CLINIC We also thank God for the
Clinic. We are seeing more people on a
daily basis. The clinic staff said they still need a laboratory. This will help them treat more patients
because with this they can check them for malaria which is one of the major
killers in Below is a complete listing of all the people treated since March of last year when open to December of last year.
WATER/ICE PRODUCTION We praise the Lord for we are in the dry season. The business is a lot for the Ministry. We really need the water production going, because this is the season we long been waiting for. I believed that with the water production and the vehicles we can do a lot now with the dry season. INCOME: LD@1:50-55 1. Water Production now $210,000 2. Two Buses reporting on a monthly basis $72,000.00 3.
Truck/Jeep ……For the truck and the Jeep, we are not getting anything
for the months of January and February; we are using these two vehicles to
get our materials from B. Our total income per month $282,000, LD C. Total Expenditures per month $304,000.00 1. Water production Salaries and Monrovia Staff $26,000.00 2. Teachers and others $35,000 3. Fuel $48,000.00 4. Plastic $25,000.00 5. Water $5,000.00 6. Transportation (drivers and their helpers) $20,000.00 7. Maintenance $90,000.00 (This is used to maintain both the buses and water production equipment) 8. $50,000.00 To feed the orphanages 9. Others $5.0000 Note: We could not meet our budget this time because the truck and jeep did not bring in any funs because of the construction. We will be in deficit for this month of $22,000 LD ($500-600 USD). May God bless you all, Shadrach |
