The Monrovia house on the night of our arrival.  It was neat, clean and we were ready for bed.

Malaria is a real threat.  A mattress on the floor is good accommodations for Liberia.

The early part of the trip to the Children’s Village takes you through the Firestone plantation.

The first of two flat tires on the van.  Thankfully we had two spare tires tied on top.

All the checkpoints we encountered this year were manned by the United Nations.  Whew.

One of 1,000 bad spots in the road.  This is why your average speed hovers around 10mph.

 

Buchanan means you’re over 1/3 the way there.

 

Unusual rain for this time of the year resulted in several mud holes in the road.

A near catastrophe with our transport truck.  God blessed and sent a Firestone truck by to pull us out.

The intersection near Juarzohn.  This means we’re within a couple of hours of the Village.
